Pronto ERP Manager (Enterprise Systems Lead).
Melbourne · Hybrid · Full-time. Own the Pronto Xi strategic roadmap and lead an internal team of BAs, 4GL Developers, and Support Analysts for a large-scale industrial manufacturing and distribution organisation.
Position Overview
About the role
We are a large-scale industrial manufacturing and distribution organisation seeking a strategic and hands-on Pronto ERP Manager to lead our Enterprise Systems division. Operating in a complex, heavy-industry environment, our business relies on Pronto Xi to drive manufacturing, supply chain, asset maintenance, and financial operations.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will own the strategic roadmap, governance, and operational stability of our Pronto ERP ecosystem. You will directly manage a high-performing internal team of Pronto Business Analysts, 4GL Developers, and Support Analysts, ensuring our systems evolve to meet the demands of Industry 4.0, operational efficiency, and business growth. You will act as the critical bridge between the shop floor, executive leadership, and IT — translating industrial business requirements into scalable, system-driven solutions.
What you'll do
Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & ERP Roadmap
- Define and execute the long-term strategic roadmap for Pronto Xi, aligning system capabilities with industrial and manufacturing business objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies, system upgrades (e.g., Pronto Xi v7.40+), and module enhancements to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Manage the relationship and contract negotiations with Pronto Software and third-party vendors, ensuring optimal support, licensing, and service delivery
- Establish and enforce enterprise-wide IT governance, master data management (MDM) standards, and system security protocols
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the internal ERP team, including Business Analysts, 4GL Developers, and L1/L2 Support Analysts
- Define team KPIs, manage performance, and foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning
- Allocate resources effectively across support, development, and project workstreams to balance operational stability with strategic innovation
- Conduct regular code reviews and functional design reviews with the technical team to ensure high-quality, maintainable deliverables
System Operations & Optimization
- Oversee the day-to-day stability, performance, and availability of the Pronto ERP environment for 500+ users across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites
- Champion the optimisation of core industrial processes within Pronto, including Manufacturing (MRP, BOMs, Routing), Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, and Plant Maintenance/Asset Management
- Ensure robust month-end and EOFY financial close processes by collaborating closely with the Finance team
- Oversee the administration and optimisation of BI and reporting platforms (Phocas, Congos) to provide real-time operational dashboards for plant managers and executives
Integrations & Industry 4.0 Initiatives
- Architect and oversee complex system integrations between Pronto Xi and operational technology (OT) / shop-floor systems, including MES, SCADA, IoT sensors, and automated WMS
- Lead the integration strategy for enterprise applications (CRM, PLM, HRIS, and advanced procurement platforms) to create a seamless digital thread across the business
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging ERP data to support predictive maintenance, real-time production tracking, and advanced supply chain analytics
Project & Change Management
- Direct large-scale ERP projects, including multi-site rollouts, major version upgrades, and post-acquisition system integrations
- Implement structured project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
- Drive organisational change management, ensuring high user adoption through comprehensive training programs, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
What you bring
Required qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master's/MBA highly advantageous)
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Systems/ERP, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role
- Deep, proven expertise in Pronto Xi ERP, with strong understanding of its architecture, 4GL development lifecycle, and PostgreSQL database
- Extensive experience in the manufacturing, heavy industrial, or resources sector — solid understanding of shop-floor operations, supply chain, and asset management is essential
Essential Technical Skills
- Pronto Xi Mastery: Comprehensive functional and technical understanding of all Pronto modules, particularly Manufacturing, Distribution, Financials, and Maintenance
- Technical Oversight: Ability to guide and review the work of 4GL Developers and SQL DBAs; strong understanding of API integrations, middleware, and system architecture
- BI & Analytics: Strategic oversight of BI tools (Phocas, Congos, PowerBI) and data warehousing concepts
- Industry 4.0: Familiarity with industrial integrations (MES, IoT, WMS, EDI, and automated material handling systems)
- IT Service Management: Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks, ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira), and IT security/compliance standards

- White Card / Construction Induction or site-specific safety induction may be required for plant access

- Participation in an executive escalation on-call roster for critical, business-halting system failures
