Position Overview

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Company Accountant to combine strong technical accounting skills with hands-on Pronto ERP experience. You will take ownership of core financial reporting activities while helping improve the systems, controls, and processes that support the finance function.

Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with finance and operational stakeholders to deliver accurate financial outcomes, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insight to support business decisions. The role suits someone who enjoys both the technical detail of financial accounting and the chance to make finance processes more efficient and effective.

What you’ll do

Key responsibilities

Month-End & Financial Reporting

  • Lead month-end activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyse profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.
  • Investigate variances, anomalies, and financial data issues with clear commentary to management.
  • Assist with management reporting, statutory reporting, and annual financial statements.

Pronto ERP & Process Improvement

  • Use Pronto ERP to support month-end reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and financial controls.
  • Improve the accuracy and efficiency of Pronto-based finance processes and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, data quality, and reporting.
  • Contribute to finance transformation, ERP improvement, and systems implementation projects.

Cash Flow, Compliance & Audit

  • Support weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasting.
  • Support compliance requirements, including BAS, payroll tax, and WorkCover.
  • Prepare audit schedules and work closely with external auditors.
  • Assist the team in resolving financial and system-related anomalies before they become reporting issues.

Business Partnering & Insight

  • Work closely with finance and operational stakeholders to deliver accurate financial outcomes.
  • Partner with operational teams to provide financial guidance and resolve accounting issues.
  • Provide meaningful analysis that supports business decisions.
  • Balance technical accounting detail with practical process improvement across the finance function.

What you bring

Required qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Company Accountant, Management Accountant, or Senior Assistant Accountant.
  • CA or CPA qualification, progress toward qualification, or strong equivalent experience.
  • Solid knowledge of month-end accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and Australian accounting standards.
  • Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.

Technical & Analytical Capability

  • Practical experience using Pronto ERP within a finance environment.
  • Experience with Cognos or Phocas is highly regarded.
  • Ability to prepare meaningful variance analysis and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
