Position Overview

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take day-to-day ownership of a finance function and become a trusted commercial partner to senior leadership. Working closely with the CFO and operational leaders, you will provide reliable visibility across cash flow, working capital, profitability, and financial risk.

You will also use your Pronto ERP experience to improve reporting, controls, data integrity, and finance processes. The role suits a hands-on Financial Controller or Finance Manager seeking greater autonomy, direct access to decision-makers, and the authority to improve how the finance function operates.

What you’ll do

Key responsibilities

Cash Flow & Working Capital

  • Maintain an accurate rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast.
  • Manage working capital across receivables, payables, inventory, and supplier commitments.
  • Provide reliable visibility across liquidity, profitability, and financial risk.
  • Support stronger operational decision-making through practical finance leadership.

Reporting, Budgeting & Insight

  • Lead month-end close and deliver timely management accounts.
  • Prepare board and executive reporting with clear financial commentary.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide commercial insight across margins, pricing, costs, and profitability.

Pronto ERP & Data Integrity

  • Ensure the integrity of finance data and reporting within Pronto ERP.
  • Improve Pronto-based finance processes, reporting, and workflows.
  • Partner with operational teams to resolve financial, system, and data issues.
  • Use system and process improvements to strengthen reporting and control outcomes.

Controls, Compliance & Team Leadership

  • Oversee BAS, GST, payroll tax, year-end reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain effective financial controls and approval processes.
  • Lead and develop the finance team while maintaining oversight of transactional finance.
  • Work closely with senior leadership while running the finance function independently day to day.

What you bring

Required qualifications

Education & Experience

  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • At least eight years of progressive finance experience.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior finance leader.
  • Strong cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management experience.
  • Experience leading month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Leadership & Systems Capability

  • Practical experience using Pronto ERP within a finance environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Ability to run a finance function independently with strategic oversight.
  • Hands-on leadership style across both operational and commercial finance.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills are highly regarded.

Highly regarded background

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, wholesale, or another inventory-based business.
Exposure to debtor or invoice-finance facilities.
Experience improving finance systems, controls, and processes.
Experience with Cognos or Phocas.
Comfort working closely with operational teams on system and data issues.
